OKLAHOMA BANK SUED FOR OVERDRAFT (NSF) FEES

KRMG-AM Tulsa (8/25, Bishop) reported, “A class action lawsuit against the Bank of Oklahoma alleges the bank intentionally rips off its customers through overdraft fees. Plaintiffs’ attorney Steve Stidham says that he expects other Oklahoma banks will come under fire” for similar actions. BOK attorneys “say they are confident Bank of Oklahoma is following the new law that gives customers the choice of whether or not they want overdraft protection.”

Micah Adkins blogged last year about banks’ predatory NSF fees and the practice of re-ordering customer transactions for the banks’ benefit.  Click HERE for how banks re-order customer transactions and how it may affect you.

Most recently, Wells Fargo America agreed to settle a NSF fee class action.   Click HERE for more information about the Wells Fargo NSF class action.
