Nurse Whistleblower Could Face Jail Time
A Texas nurse reported that a doctor was practicing bad medicine, but she is now facing jail time. The prosecutors allege nurse Anne Mitchell Mitchell has a history of making “inflammatory comments: about Dr. Rolando G. Arafiles, Jr. Nurse Mitchell says that she has an obligation to report Dr. Arafiles to the Texas Medical Board, especially after she witnessed a pattern of “improper prescribing and surgical procedures.”
Nurse Mitchell’s lawyer says she should be afforded protection under the state whistleblower protection laws.
