Jury Awards Over $78 Million to Prempro Plaintiff

A Philadelphia jury awarded over $78 million to a user of its hormone replacement therapy drug, Prempro.  The jury verdict included $3.7 million in compensatory damages and $75 million in punitive damages.  The plaintiff, Connie Barton, claimed she developed breast cancer as a result of taking Pfizer’s hormone replacement therapy drug, Prempro, and she claimed Pfizer failed to warn her of the risk of cancer associated with the use of the drug.  The jury agreed.
