Jury Awards Over $78 Million to Prempro Plaintiff
A Philadelphia jury awarded over $78 million to a user of its hormone replacement therapy drug, Prempro. The jury verdict included $3.7 million in compensatory damages and $75 million in punitive damages. The plaintiff, Connie Barton, claimed she developed breast cancer as a result of taking Pfizer’s hormone replacement therapy drug, Prempro, and she claimed Pfizer failed to warn her of the risk of cancer associated with the use of the drug.
