Judge Says its Ok to Post Social Security Numbers on Web Sites. What?
A U.S. District Court judge has ruled its okay to post government employees’ Social Security numbers online. What? Yes. That’s right, the judge said its okay to post the information because its free speech and protected by th First Amendment!
As a result, the judge ordered the state of Virginia to stop prosecuting the woman for publishing the personal identifying information on her web site. The state has appealed and the appeal is pending.
