ID Theft Ring Busted

Northwestern Memorial Hospital failed to ensure file cabinets containing patients’ personal information was secure. As a result, ID thieves were able to easily access the personal identifying information and spend more than $300,000 at retailers such as Jared’s Jewelry Store, Victoria’s Secret and Lowes. The ID thieves re-sold some of the loot for cash.
