HSBC EXPOSED SENSITIVE BANKRUPTCY DATA
HSBC Bank says it found a bug in its imaging software that exposed the sensitive data about an unnumbered amount of its customers going through bankruptcy. HSBC’s notification letters informed its customers that sensitive information was viewable “as a result of the deficiency in software used to save imaged documents.”
According to an HSBC spokeswoman, the customers affected by the breach are being offering one year of free credit monitoring.
