Baltimore’s Mercy Medical Center Security Breach

The Baltimore Sun is reporting a security breach at the Mercy Medical Center.  According to Brent Jones’ article, an undisclosed number of Mercy Medical Center patients’ personal information may have been stolen by a former employee of the hospital.

Mercy Medical Center sent patients affected by the breach notification letters.  The breach notification letter included a statement that the hospital’s former employee may have taken patients’ personal information for use when applying for loans and credit cards .
