AMERICAN AIRLINES SETTLES PRICE FIXING CLASS ACTION FOR $5 MILLION

American Airlines has agreed to pay $5 million in class-action lawsuit which accused them of participating in a global price-fixing scheme. As part of the settlement, the airline will give information and witnesses to the U.S. and the European Union against other global carriers related to freight services price-fixing. The entire industry has been under investigation since 2006, and the information provided by AA will go to aid plaintiffs in other countries in similar lawsuits.
