AETNA PATIENT INFORMATION FOUND ON SIDE OF THE ROAD

Aetna needs to explain why a cabinet was left on the side of the road that contained personal identifying information and various insurance documents.  An East Hartford, Connecticut resident, Donna Guiel,  found the cabinet on the side of the road in front af a storage facility.  The cabinet had a sign on it that said “FREE”.

Once home with the cabinet, Mrs. Guiel removed 8 bags of Aetna documents that contained insureds’ Social Security numbers, names and death benefits.  A local news camera crew caught the event on tape.  CLICK HERE for the video.

The documents also contained the insureds’  personal health information such as medications and hospitals.
