ATTORNEYS TRY TO SETTLE FEMA TRAILER LAWSUITS

Attorneys are attempting to settle thousands of consumers’ claims stemming from hurricane relief trailers that allegedly exposed residents to hazardous fumes.  The settlement negotiations come one week before a trial was scheduled to begin over a consumer’s claim that formaldehyde in a trailer supplied by Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. caused a New Orleans family to develop health problems.  Fleetwood supplied more than 10,000 trailers to the federal government after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
