$21.3 Million Lawsuit Settlement with Schering-Plough
The state of California has agreed to settle a price inflation lawsuit with Schering-Plough Corporation for $21.3 million. California alleged in its lawsuit that Schering-Plough inflated the average wholesale price it reported for the drug Albuterol to California. As a result, California alleged its Medi-Cal program over paid Schering-Plough millions in pharmacy reimbursements. The overpayments were brought to the attention of the state of California by a whistleblower.
