UGA EMPLOYEES AT RISK FOR ID THEFT

Employees who worked at the University of Georgia (UGA) in 2002 are at risk of identity theft after their personal identifying information (PII) was made public.  According to UGA, university official recently discovered a data file on a publicly available web server.  The web file included 18,931 employees’ Social Security numbers, date of birth, dates of employment, sex, race, phone number and address UGA employees and faculty employed in 2002.
