SONY SUBSIDIARY HACKED

The Wall Street Journal recently reported Sony’s So-Net Entertainment subsidiary (a Japan based internet service provider) was hacked by intruders.  According to , the hackers stole $1,200 worth of virtual points from 128 accounts.  The hacker was able to access emails from 90 accounts, according the AP. 

So-Net learned of the data breach when its customers complained about problems with their accounts.  So-Net publicly announced to the WSJ that it did not believe this hack was related to the Sony PSP data breach.  So-Net does not believe the hackers stole personal identifying information (PII).
