 Micah S. Adkins was born in Dallas, Texas and earned his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Texas, at Dallas, with honors (cum laude), in 2000.  While in college, Mr. Adkins was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society.  He earned his juris doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2005.  While in law school, Mr. Adkins was honored by his classmates as the Peer Scholarship Recipient and served as an Associate Justice on the Honor Court. In 2012, Mr. Adkins was named one of Birmingham’s top consumer lawyers by peer review.

Mr. Adkins is admitted to practice law in all Alabama state courts; United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.  Additionally, Mr. Adkins has been admitted to federal courts throughout the country, including Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Washington, D.C.

Mr. Adkins’ consumer practice focuses on credit report disputes and identity theft, under federal consumer protection laws,  such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) as amended by the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA).  Mr. Adkins represents victims of identity theft in Alabama and across the United States.  He has represented named class respresentatives and consumers in the following Multi-District Litigation (MDL) data security cases:  In re Countrywide Financial Corp. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation, MDL No. 1998; In re TJX Companies Retail Security Breach, MDL No. 1838; and In re Department of Veterans (VA) Affairs Data Theft Litigation, MDL No. 1796.  653 F.Supp.2d 58 (D.C. Cir. 2009).

In 2007, Mr. Adkins filed three class actions on behalf of consumers alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).  All three class action lawsuits were certified as class actions and settled shortly afterwards in favor of the class representatives and putative class members.  Recently, Mr. Adkins filed a nationwide class action on behalf of consumers.  The class action alleges one of the big three credit bureaus violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

Mr. Adkins’ consumer practice also includes the representation of consumers who have been injured by a product or the negligence of another person.  Mr. Adkins has represented clients injured by products in the following personal injury Multi-District Litigation (MDL) cases: In re Bausch & Lomb, Inc. Contact Lens Solution Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1785; and In re Phenylpropanolamine (PPA), MDL No. 1407

Community service is important to Mr. Adkins.  He served on the Birmingham Bar Association Public Service Committee from 2008 through 2010.  While on the Public Service Committee, Mr. Adkins has supported Birmingham, Alabama charitable organizations such as: The Bell Center; Big Brothers Big Sisters; Children’s Village; and the Jefferson County Rehabilitation Center.  He also volunteered his time to the Trussville city schools, where he served as a member of the Trussville High School Academy Advisory Council.

Mr. Adkins is also active in the legal profession.  He served the Birmingham Bar Association as a volunteer Program Coordinator for the Tenth Judicial Circuit’s Mentor Program and he was selected to serve on the 2010 Mentoring Task Force.  Mr. Adkins is a member of the following professional organizations: Alabama State Bar; Birmingham Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section; American Association for Justice; and the Alabama Association for Justice, including the Emerging Leaders Section; and the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA).

Mr. Adkins regularly speaks on consumer protection topics, especially the Fair Credit Reporting Act.  He has been invited to speak by the following organizations:

Peter H. Burke graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1988 with a B.A. degree in Economics and History. He was a member of Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Burke graduated from Yale Law School in 1991 where he was a member of the Yale Law Journal.  In 2011 and 2012, Mr. Burke was honored by his peers as a Super Lawyer in Alabama.

He has practiced his entire career in Birmingham, Alabama and is licensed to practice law in the following states: Alabama, Tennessee, Texas and New York. Mr. Burke’s practice focuses on insurance claim denials, ERISA, nursing home abuse and neglect, personal injury and consumer class actions.

W. Todd Harvey graduated from Samford University in 1990 with a B.A. in International Business and International Relations. He attended Samford University Cumberland School of Law and graduated in 1994.

Originally from Georgia, Mr. Harvey maintains an active practice in his home state and Alabama.

Mr. Harvey’s litigation practice focuses on nursing home abuse and neglect, personal injury and defective medical device and pharmaceutical products.  He is admitted to the State bar of Alabama and Georgia.   Mr. Harvey is a member of the Alabama Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice.

Richard Frankowski understands securities.  When something goes wrong involving your brokerage account, Richard has the necessary experience in securities litigation and arbitration to effectively pursue claims on your behalf.  He is currently active in a number of securities arbitrations and has represented many investors against brokerage firms such as AG Edwards, Edward Jones, Merrill Lynch, Metropolitan Life, Morgan Stanley and Prudential.

Richard is a member of the Alabama and Florida Bars as well as a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association.  He is a graduate of The University of Alabama Law School, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, 2000, J.D.; University of Alabama, 2000 M.B.A.; Georgetown University, 1997, M.A.; Georgetown University, 1993, B.A.

Richard has been active in securities fraud litigation, including variable annuity fraud, on behalf of classes of investors, institutional investors, private pension funds and individual investors.  He had taken on unscrupulous brokers and brokerage firms and has experience in taking on other businesses whose improper conduct has resulted in harm to consumers.

Gregory J. McKay graduated from Auburn University in 1978 and attended Cumberland School of Law where he graduated in 1982.  Mr. McKay has practiced his entire legal career in Birmingham, Alabama.

For the last twenty years he has concentrated his legal practice in the areas of Long Term Disability (LTD) and Social Security Disability (SSD). Mr. McKay is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives and speaks at seminars, including Law Call, concerning Social Security and ERISA issues.

Camille L. Edwards graduated from University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2000 with a B.S. degree in Justice Science. She attended Birmingham School of Law and graduated in 2003.  Originally from Indiana, she has practiced her entire career in Alabama.  Ms. Edward’s legal career is characterized by a sense of duty to the underserved, underrepresented, and the uninformed.

The sense of fairness was sparked in her during her undergrad years at University of Alabama at Birmingham where she collaborated with the United States Department of Justice and UAB on a major research project which led to the Jefferson County Family Courts setting the gold standard for family courts across the country.

Upon passing the bar, she began her career defending indigent clients, the State of Alabama and county entities.  Her most recent practice focuses on nursing home abuse and neglect, personal injury and defective medical device and pharmaceutical products.  Ms. Edwards is an engaged advocate who serves her clients with supporting sustaining vigor.

Ms. Edwards is a member of the following organizations: American Bar Association; Alabama State Bar Association; and the Birmingham Bar Association.  Ms. Edwards’ donates her time back to the community as a literacy tutor and is a frequent lecturer at the University of Alabama Law School.

Robert E. Norton was Born in Athens, Alabama and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Alabama, with honors (magna cum laude), in 2002.   Mr. Norton was a University of Alabama Presidential Scholar and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the highest academic honor awarded to seniors.

After working for the Huntsville Stars baseball club following college, Mr. Norton received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2007.  While in law school, Rob was recognized as the most outstanding student in the study of Negotiations.

Mr. Norton was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 2007 and is licensed to practice before The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts of Alabama.

Mr. Norton’s areas of practice include securities litigation, stockbroker fraud, and veteran disability claims.  Rob’s practice focuses on securities litigation and arbitration.   He has prosecuted securities claims against companies such as Morgan Keegan, Sterne Agee, New York Life, State Farm, ALFA, and Allstate.

Rob’s interests include golf, baseball, reading, and travel.

J. Allen Schreiber is a nationally recognized attorney at law, mediator, and arbitrator. He believes in making the world a better place by working to keep the legal system fair and just.

Allen has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the Trial Lawyers Association of America and is also a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, a feat achieved by few attorneys. Allen’s ability to see both sides to cases has aided his reputation as a mediator and arbitrator, leading to his initiation as a Charter Member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and his membership in the American College of Civil Trial Mediators.
