Mr. Adkins earned his Bachelor of Science degree with honors (cum laude) from the University of Texas, at Dallas, in 2000. He earned his juris doctorate from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2005. While in law school, Mr. Adkins was honored by his classmates as the Peer Scholarship Recipient and served as an Associate Justice on the Honor Court. Mr. Adkins was named one of Birmingham’s top consumer lawyers by peer review for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. He was also recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2014 and 2015 and in 2016 and 2017 as a Super Lawyer Mid South Rising Star.
Mr. Adkins is admitted to the Alabama, Tennessee and Texas Bars. Mr. Adkins is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama; District of Colorado; Eastern District of Michigan; Eastern District of Tennessee; Western District of Tennessee; Eastern, Northern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits.
Mr. Adkins has been admitted to numerous other federal courts throughout the country, including California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Mr. Adkins is regularly invited to speak about identity theft issues and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. He has been invited to speak by numerous legal and civic organizations, including the Alabama State Bar, Birmingham Bar, City of Orlando, Dallas Bar, Florida Bar, Houston Bar, Huntsville/Madison County Bar, Williamson County Bar Association, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, various Legal Services organizations and numerous others.
Family is important to Mr. Adkins. He and his wife have five children.
Sarah F. Baber, Attorney
Sarah Baber was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mrs. Baber comes from a long line of attorneys, including her grandfather, two uncles, and cousin. Mrs. Baber earned her Bachelor of Arts from Arkansas State University in 2004, and she was a recipient of the President’s Scholarship all four years. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in 2007.
Mrs. Baber’s accomplishments have been honored by her peers. She is a graduate of the Arkansas Bar Association’s Leadership Academy (class of 2013-14), and in 2016 she was nominated and elected to the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association’s Board of Governors.
Mrs. Baber is also the Vice President of Gray Dog Music, Inc., a family owned company with her husband, singer and songwriter, Barrett Baber. The Babers relocated from Fayetteville, Arkansas to Franklin, Tennessee in 2017 to allow Barrett to pursue his music career full-time. The Barretts have two children, son Brooks and daughter Elliott.
Mrs. Baber is admitted to the Arkansas and Tennessee Bars.
