CONSUMER COMPLAINS ABOUT EQUIFAX UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT CARD CHARGES

I recently came across a consumer’s complaint about Equifax’s business practices.  The consumer complains that he authorized Equifax to run a one time credit check on a potential tenant, but Equifax has continued to charge his credit card $12.95 a month for over a year and a half.  The consumer complains Equifax has refused to reverse the charges.

Likewise, consumers should be wary when paying for their credit report from Equifax, Experian or Trans Union, or any other reseller of credit reports.  Why?  Under federal law, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) entitles you to a free credit report under many different circumstances.  For example, you are entitled to a free credit report once per 12 month time period.  You are also entitled to a free report if you beleive you are a victim of fraud or identity theft.  You are entitled to a free report if you are unemployed and looking for employment.  The list goes on and on!

If you have incurred unathorized charges on your credit or debit card by Equifax, Trans Union or Experian, you may be entitled to money damages.  Contact data security and identity theft protection lawyer Micah Adkins for a free consultation using the contact form below.
